Chapter 91 - 93. The Truth Behind the Name

The cold wind howled through the abandoned structure as the heavy metal door slammed shut behind them.

Elara's heart was still racing.

Everything that had happened in the last few minutes replayed in her mind like a broken film reel—the gunshots, the explosion in the lower corridor, the mysterious symbol they had discovered glowing faintly beneath the ruined floor.

And Adrian.

He had known exactly where to go.

Exactly what to do.

Exactly which path would lead them here.

Elara slowly turned toward him.

The dim emergency lights flickered across the concrete walls, casting long shadows across Adrian's face.

But something about him had changed.

He wasn't the calm, quiet man she had been traveling with for weeks.

There was something colder in his eyes.

Something older.

More dangerous.

"Adrian…" Elara said quietly.

Her voice echoed through the silent chamber.

"How did you know about this place?"

Adrian didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he walked slowly toward the center of the room.

The floor beneath them was covered with dust and broken metal panels, but in the center there was something different.

A circular platform.

And carved into it—

The same symbol they had found earlier.

Three intersecting lines forming a shape that looked almost like a crown.

But it wasn't a crown.

Elara recognized it now.

Her breath caught.

"Olympus…"

Adrian finally stopped walking.

He looked down at the symbol.

For a moment, he said nothing.

Then he spoke.

"You weren't supposed to find this place."

Elara frowned.

"What does that mean?"

Adrian slowly turned toward her.

The flickering light revealed the faint scar running along his jawline.

A scar she had never questioned before.

But now it felt like a clue.

Like everything about him had been a lie.

"You should leave, Elara."

Her eyes widened.

"What?"

"You need to get out of here."

The calm tone in his voice made her stomach twist.

"No," she said immediately.

"I'm not leaving until you explain what's going on."

Adrian looked away.

For a brief second, something like regret flashed across his face.

Then it disappeared.

"Elara…"

His voice was quieter now.

"This isn't your fight."

She stepped closer.

"Then whose fight is it?"

Adrian didn't answer.

Instead, he reached into his jacket.

Elara's body tensed instantly.

But he didn't pull out a weapon.

He pulled out a small metal device.

Old.

Worn.

Military-grade.

Without hesitation, he placed it against the circular symbol carved into the floor.

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then the platform beneath them began to glow.

A low mechanical hum filled the chamber.

Panels in the walls slid open with a loud metallic groan.

Screens flickered to life.

Rows of ancient monitors lit up the room with a cold blue light.

Elara stepped back in shock.

"What… is this?"

But Adrian didn't answer.

He was staring at the screens.

As if he had seen them before.

As if he had been here before.

One by one, files began appearing across the monitors.

Classified documents.

Military insignias.

Encrypted project files.

And then—

A name appeared in bold letters across the central screen.

PROJECT OLYMPUS

Elara's eyes widened.

"This… this can't be real."

She turned toward Adrian.

"You told me Olympus was destroyed."

Adrian's jaw tightened.

"It was."

"Then what is this?!"

For the first time since they arrived, Adrian looked directly at her.

His eyes were no longer calm.

They were cold.

Like someone who had lived through something terrible.

"Backups."

Elara felt a chill run down her spine.

"The system was never completely erased."

Before she could respond—

Another screen flickered to life.

This one didn't show project files.

It showed a photograph.

A military record.

And beneath the photograph—

A name.

Elara froze.

Because the man in the photo…

Was Adrian.

But the name below it was different.

Not Adrian.

AERES VALEN.

Her voice came out as barely more than a whisper.

"…What is this?"

Adrian didn't move.

"Adrian…"

Her hands trembled.

"Tell me this is fake."

Silence filled the chamber.

The machines hummed softly around them.

Finally—

Adrian spoke.

"It's not fake."

The words hit her like a gunshot.

Elara took a step back.

"No…"

Her mind raced.

"No, that's not possible."

She pointed at the screen.

"That says Aeres."

"Yes."

"But your name is Adrian!"

Adrian exhaled slowly.

"That name came later."

Elara's chest tightened.

"You're lying."

"I wish I was."

The quiet honesty in his voice made the truth feel even heavier.

Elara shook her head.

"This doesn't make sense."

"You told me Olympus was a failed experiment."

"It was."

"You told me the creator disappeared."

Adrian looked at the glowing symbol beneath their feet.

Then he spoke the words that shattered everything.

"I didn't disappear."

Elara's breath stopped.

"I ran."

The silence that followed felt suffocating.

For a moment, neither of them moved.

Finally Elara spoke.

"You're saying…"

Her voice trembled.

"You created Olympus?"

Adrian closed his eyes.

"Yes."

Elara felt the world tilt beneath her feet.

"You…"

Her voice broke.

"You're Aeres?"

Adrian slowly opened his eyes again.

"Yes."

The truth hung in the air like a blade.

Elara stared at him.

The man she had trusted.

The man she had traveled with.

The man she thought she knew.

And suddenly…

She realized something terrifying.

"You knew all along."

Adrian didn't respond.

"You knew Olympus wasn't gone."

Still silence.

"You knew someone was rebuilding it."

Adrian's voice was barely audible.

"Yes."

Anger surged through her chest.

"And you didn't tell me?!"

Before he could answer—

The main screen suddenly changed.

A new signal appeared.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

Both of them froze.

The screen flickered.

Then a face appeared.

A man in a dark suit.

Cold smile.

Sharp eyes.

Marcus Hale.

"Well," Marcus said calmly.

"I was wondering how long it would take you to come back."

Elara's stomach dropped.

"You know him?" she whispered.

Adrian's expression hardened.

"Yes."

Marcus leaned slightly closer to the camera.

"I must say, Aeres… you've been very hard to track."

Elara felt chills crawl across her skin.

"You're talking to the wrong person," Adrian said coldly.

Marcus laughed softly.

"Oh, please."

His eyes shifted toward Elara.

"And you must be the girl."

Elara felt instantly exposed.

Marcus tilted his head slightly.

"Tell me something, Miss Elara."

His smile widened.

"Did he tell you who he really is?"

Elara didn't answer.

Marcus chuckled.

"I'll take that as a no."

Adrian stepped closer to the screen.

"What do you want, Marcus?"

Marcus's expression darkened slightly.

"What I've always wanted."

He tapped something off-screen.

The monitors around the chamber suddenly filled with flashing red warnings.

SYSTEM ACTIVATION SEQUENCE INITIATED

Elara's eyes widened.

"What did you do?!"

Marcus leaned back calmly.

"I simply finished the work you abandoned."

Adrian's fists clenched.

"You don't understand what you're unleashing."

Marcus smiled again.

"Oh, I understand perfectly."

The countdown appeared across the central screen.

71:59:48

"Seventy-two hours," Marcus said.

"That's how long you have to stop Olympus."

Elara's heart pounded.

"And if we don't?"

Marcus's smile turned colder.

"Then the world will finally meet the monster you created."

The transmission cut.

The chamber fell silent again.

Only the ticking countdown remained.

Elara slowly turned toward Adrian.

Her voice was barely steady.

"You said you ran from Olympus."

Adrian looked at the countdown.

"Yes."

Elara swallowed hard.

"Looks like it just found you again."
