Chapter 10 – Happy Ending
The sun spilled golden light through the apartment window. Ella was in the kitchen, making breakfast, when she heard a soft knock on the door.
Liam appeared, holding a small bouquet of wildflowers. "Morning," he said, a shy smile on his face.
Ella's heart fluttered. "Morning."
He stepped inside, setting the flowers on the table. "I just… wanted to start the day by saying something."
Ella raised an eyebrow. "And what's that?"
"I'm sorry for the fights, the misunderstandings… all of it. I've realized that love isn't about being perfect—it's about being honest, open, and present. And I promise, I'll always be present with you."
Ella felt tears prick her eyes. She reached out, taking his hand. "I'm sorry too. I let my fear get in the way… but I don't want to anymore. I want us—completely."
He smiled, relief and happiness shining in his eyes. "Then it's settled. Us."
They laughed softly, leaning into each other, the tension from the past week melting away. Liam pulled her close, resting his forehead against hers. "I guess the universe really does put the right person in the wrong place sometimes," he murmured.
Ella smiled, heart full. "And sometimes… it makes them stay."
