Chapter 160 - The Hyūga Sisters

The next day—

Since Nagi and his team had just completed a C-Rank mission that was upgraded to S-Rank, they were given several days off.

During those days, Nagi spent most of his time training.

Until—

Ding-dong.

"Nagi, I'm here to see you!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Nagi walked to the door. When he opened it, he saw Hinata Hyūga standing there with a bright smile.

"Yo, Nagi. Long time no see. Did you miss me?"

Nagi replied helplessly,

"Didn't we just meet at Ichiraku Ramen last night?"

Hinata waved her hand dismissively.

"Don't worry about such minor details."

She then handed him a Sealing Scroll.

"Nagi, I haven't seen you for so long that I've barely been able to eat or drink these past few days."

Nagi accepted the scroll and sighed.

"I think you just miss my cooking."

Hinata giggled.

"Hehe… that too."

Nagi then glanced behind her.

"That's your little sister, right?"

"Hm?"

Hinata turned around and saw a small figure hiding behind a utility pole. The girl occasionally covered her eyes with her hands, apparently thinking that if she couldn't see them, they couldn't see her either.

When Hanabi lowered her hands, she suddenly found her sister standing right in front of her.

Startled, she tried to run away.

But Hinata immediately grabbed the back of her collar and lifted her up.

Bringing her in front of her, Hinata narrowed her eyes.

"Hanabi, why are you secretly following me?"

Hanabi looked away and clasped her hands behind her head, even whistling innocently.

Hinata sighed helplessly at her sister's act.

Before she could say anything, Nagi walked over.

"So this is your sister Hanabi?"

Before Hinata could respond, Hanabi spoke up first.

"Yep! I'm Hanabi Hyūga, her little sister. You must be Nagi. My sister always says at home—mmph!"

Hinata hurriedly covered Hanabi's mouth.

"Haha… kids can be a little mischievous."

Nagi chuckled.

"It's fine. Since she's here, Hanabi can stay for lunch too."

Hanabi immediately pushed Hinata's hand away and grinned.

"Hehe! Thank you, Nagi-nii!"

Hinata looked troubled, then pulled Hanabi aside and whispered:

"If that's the case, behave yourself later."

Hanabi patted her chest confidently.

"Of course! Everyone says I'm the most well-behaved kid ever."

"Yeah… right."

Hinata didn't believe a single word.

At the Dining Table

"Mmm! This is delicious! That's delicious too!"

Hanabi stuffed food into her mouth enthusiastically, eating until oil stained the corners of her lips.

Seeing this, Nagi took a tissue and gently wiped her mouth.

"Slow down. You'll choke if you eat too fast."

Hanabi grinned.

"Hehe, that's because your cooking is so good! Oh right, I want some crab meat too."

"Alright, just a second."

Nagi carefully peeled the crab and placed the meat onto Hanabi's plate.

Across the table, Hinata's face darkened.

Watching Nagi attentively taking care of Hanabi made her feel strangely irritated.

Damn brat… Nagi has never taken care of me like that before. This meal is infuriating.

Hanabi suddenly said sweetly:

"Hehe, Nagi-nii, feed me."

Before Nagi could react—

Hinata quickly grabbed a piece of crab with her chopsticks and stuffed it into Hanabi's mouth.

"Haha, Hanabi. As a guest, you shouldn't trouble people like that."

Hanabi chewed a few times and swallowed.

Seeing the dark aura surrounding her sister, a mischievous idea suddenly popped into her mind.

"Since my sister fed me, Nagi-nii should feed my sister too!"

Hinata froze.

Her face instantly turned red.

"Y-You… what are you saying, Hanabi?! Ahem… Nagi, children say silly things. Please don't take it seriously."

"..."

Hanabi clicked her tongue.

Hopeless.

Then she spoke again.

"Nagi-nii, I want that chicken drumstick."

"Sure."

As Nagi reached for the food, Hanabi stuck out her tongue at Hinata and gave her a smug look.

Crack.

Hinata's chopsticks snapped in half.

On the Way Home

On the road back to the Hyūga Clan Residence, Hinata held Hanabi's hand.

Hanabi suddenly asked,

"Big sister, can you bring me to Nagi-nii's house again next time?"

Hinata immediately rejected the idea.

"No. With you around, Nagi and I barely talked."

Hanabi gave her a disdainful look.

"Tsk. Even when you get the chance, you can't do anything with it."

"What did you say?!"

"Hehe, looks like I hit the mark!"

Hanabi puffed up proudly.

"If you bring me along next time, I can help you, you know. I can create opportunities for you. After all, kids can say anything without people taking it seriously."

Hinata snorted.

"As if I need help from a brat like you. Just wait—I'll win him over sooner or later!"

Hanabi glanced sideways at her.

"Heh."

"You little brat! What kind of look was that?!"

"Hehe, figure it out yourself."

Hanabi then broke free from Hinata's hand and ran ahead.

Turning around, she made a face.

"Nyah-nyah! Stupid sister can't catch me!"

"You're dead, brat!"

Soon the street turned into a chaotic sisterly chase scene.

Reactions

Hiashi Hyūga:

"..."

My well-mannered daughter has turned into a troublemaker.

Hanabi Hyūga:

"..."

That version of me is… outrageous.

But also kind of fun. I envy her.

Hinata Hyūga:

"..."

I envy the relationship between that version of me and Hanabi.

The Screen Continues

That afternoon—

Just as Nagi was preparing to train, the doorbell rang again.

When he opened the door, he saw Fūma Shizuka.

After they sat down in the living room, Shizuka explained why she came.

"Nagi, please. I also want to try Wind Release chakra fusion with you. It should help speed up both of our training."

Ever since Ameno fused chakra with Nagi, Shizuka had noticed something.

Over the past two days, Ameno's Water Release ninjutsu had made a breakthrough, and Nagi's understanding of chakra shape transformation and nature transformation for Water Release had improved significantly.

His chakra control had also become far more refined.

Nagi nodded.

"My Water Release does feel stronger these past few days."

They each gathered Wind Release chakra in their hands and slowly brought their palms together.

When their hands touched—

Their Wind Release chakra fused instantly.

Both Nagi and Shizuka suddenly felt their understanding of Wind Release's nature and shape transformation deepen dramatically.

At the same time, Shizuka felt an urge to get closer to Nagi.

Acting on impulse, she spoke:

"This may be rude, but… Nagi, can I hug you?"

Nagi subconsciously nodded.

Receiving permission, Shizuka stepped forward and embraced him.

While the two were hugging, Nagi felt his understanding of Wind Release improving even faster.

Meanwhile, Shizuka wore a satisfied and happy smile.

What she didn't realize was that her Wind Release ninjutsu was undergoing a massive breakthrough at that very moment.
