Chapter 86 - Ch 86: Gojo and Yuji

The morning air was crisp as Gojo walked casually through the halls of Tokyo Jujutsu. High with his hands tucked behind his head. Beside him, Yuji Itadori followed while looking around curiously at the traditional architecture surrounding them.

Yuji and Gojo were walking towards Yaga's room to officially make Yuji join the school, but since Yaga is the principal, Gojo's decision about Yuji can't come to pass without Yaga's confirmation.

Despite everything that had happened over the past few days—eating a cursed object, almost dying, a second life as something new, learning that curses existed, and discovering he was now the vessel of the King of Curses—Yuji was handling things surprisingly well, or perhaps he was simply too stubborn to panic.

"So," Yuji began while looking at the various buildings scattered across campus, "I thought you'd be the principal."

Gojo immediately pointed at himself. "Me?"

"Yeah," Yuji shrugged, like, wasn't that obvious? "I mean, you're super strong, everyone seems to listen to you, and you act like you own the place."

Gojo looked genuinely offended. "I do not act like I own the place." Then he let out a wide grin. "I act like I own the world."

Yuji immediately regretted bringing it up. Was he really a teacher here, or is he just pulling my leg here? That was Yuji's thought, but he knew he was a teacher, as Gojo had no reason to lie at all, but Gojo is indeed the weirdest individual he has seen. I hope I won't find anyone weirder than him here.

Gojo continued walking while waving a dismissive hand. "Besides, I'm not old enough to be a principal."

"You say that like you're twenty." Yuji mused, "And you look thirty."

"Hey, I am young and I am nowhere near thirty. I still have thirty years left for me to become thirty." Yuji didn't even understand that math in Gojo's calculation.

"You say that while wearing sunglasses indoors."

"They're stylish."

"They're old-man glasses. Do you have a cataract?"

Gojo stopped walking. "You take that back. You are as rude as Naoya."

Before Yuji could continue the argument, something suddenly moved beneath the skin of his cheek. A small mouth formed on the side of his face. The lips twisted into an expression of disgust and mockery.

"A society that is not based upon strength lacks any usefulness whatsoever." The mouth sneered. "It merely allows vermin to multiply."

Ryomen Sukuna, an egocentric, hedonistic, psychopathic, exceptionally sadistic sorcerer that took the mantle of King of Curses, even though he himself was one. Sukuna reigned as the strongest sorcerer at the zenith of Jujutsu, the Heian Era.

The way Sukuna reincarnated into the current generation is by transforming himself into a cursed object, remaining in a state in which his cursed energy and soul were split into his twenty indestructible fingers.

Hearing Sukuna's voice through the creepy mouth that formed in Yuji's cheeks, Gojo examined. "I see he can also do something like this. I say we have things to learn even from the losers." It was a mocking remark from Gojo's side, indicating the defeat Sukuna suffered from Gojo's hands, when he took brief control over Yuji.

"I will kill you." It was a straight answer from Sukuna, with every intention to make the threat into a reality. "I'll rip you apart. I'll make an example out of you before I slaughter everyone else."

Gojo glanced over his shoulder, and his reply was a smile, "What an honor."

Yuji blinked. "...That's your response?"

"Of course." Gojo shrugged casually as he meant what he said, but his body language suggests that he didn't care about it either. "The King of Curses personally wants to kill me first. That's basically a compliment."

Yuji raised an eyebrow, struggling to comprehend how a death threat could be interpreted as a compliment. "Can someone explain why this psychopath is such a big deal anyway?" Having only just joined the school, Yuji still lacked a full understanding of the legendary, terrifying entity currently dwelling within his own body.

And Gojo, being Gojo, didn't give much in-depth explanation either, other than it was a dangerous entity that possessed him.

"Well, history lesson time." Gojo said, thinking this would be a good time to give Yuji a perspective, "A thousand years ago, during what's often called the Golden Age of Jujutsu, there was a sorcerer named Sukuna, and he was called the strongest."

Yuji waited for Gojo to elaborate, but when he realized the explanation was already over, he blinked in disbelief. "That's it?" Yuji muttered, his voice trailing off as he stared at the teacher in confusion.

"Well, I already told you the important part," Gojo replied with a shrug, seemingly unbothered by the lack of gravity in his explanation. "He was the strongest of that era."

Yuji looked at Gojo with deadpan looks. Is he really a teacher? Such thoughts enter Yuji's mind, and then another question follows after hearing Sukuna being the strongest. "Gojo-sensai, if Sukuna were restored completely...who do you think would win?"

Gojo stopped walking and turned to Yuji, "If he got all twenty fingers back, it would be tough."

"But would you lose?"

"Nah, I'd win."

Just then, a figure dropped from the roof, crashing into the ground with enough force to kick up a cloud of dust and silence the conversation instantly. "Motherfucker."
