Chapter 476 - No One's Saviour

The first alarm went off while I was trying to decide whether leftover cake counted as breakfast.

I didn't even know when I had put it in my space, but here we were, staring at each other. But since it was daring me to eat it, I really might as well give in and give it what it wanted.

Using the fridge as cover, I pulled out the cake with a single slice cut out of it. 

Before any of the guys could point out that I needed an actual breakfast, Chenghai's phone vibrated against the kitchen island. He glanced at it before reaching for his coffee. A second vibration followed almost immediately, then a third, and his hand stopped halfway to the mug.

That caught everyone's attention enough to let me steal a few bites of the vanilla cake. 

Chenghai had installed enough cameras and motion sensors around the worker buildings, access roads, secondary fencing, and approaches to the property that I had stopped asking what most of them did.
