Finally, beating the 99th-floor boss, the ancient dragon, Kairo mutters, while breathing heavily, "I… finally did it…" He said this while on the giant dragon's head, kneeling with his sword in its head, laughing to himself quietly for five minutes. He gets up slowly, supporting himself with the sword, and opens his system (Status window).
He reaches out with his finger and logs off.
And then it finally goes quiet, his natural white hair tumbling as Kairo slowly takes his headset off, saying, "I still can't believe it was all a game…" He said this to himself while looking down at his headset in his hands. He gets up from his bed slowly, then gently puts his headset on his nightstand. He then gets back into bed, face down, and falls asleep.
The sounds of birds chirping wake Kairo up. As he gets up from his bed, he immediately puts his VR headset back on.
Ding, Ding, Ding.
Welcome back to Beyond the Veil.
A feminine voice calls out from the VR headset as his consciousness slowly drifts into the VR game. As his character is loading into the game, Kairo snickers to himself until his character finally loads into the game.
He's back on the 99th floor. The stench of the rotting boss monster's corpse jolts him awake. He gags on the fetid air surrounding the body and quickly gets off the giant corpse.
Kairo walks away from the corpse while he opens his status system (Status window).

Kairo gives a hesitant rub to his neck, caught between choosing Strength or Agility. After ultimately choosing to put 10 points into Strength and 10 into Agility, he gets ready for the hardest battle he has ever fought.
After putting on invisible armor, Kairo walks to the portal that takes him to the last floor. In front of the gate, Kairo closes his eyes, getting ready and hyping himself up.
His blade slides from the scabbard with a faint metallic hiss as he takes out his sword while walking into the gate.
Kairo feels the air change around him. He slowly opens his eyes, getting ready to fight a strong foe.

His eyes snap open. The cramped darkness is gone, replaced by an expansive grassy plain shimmering under a relentless sun. No sign of any enemy. Kairo is baffled, as there had never been a floor without a boss monster. Convinced his enemy is hiding, Kairo activates (Detection). He senses someone or something 60 miles to the north.
Kairo looks towards the north. (Flash step) Suddenly he is moving so fast all that's visible are afterimages of him.
Light bends around him as he runs there, and it only takes two seconds for him to arrive near the only living organism.
As Kairo suddenly stops in place, it creates a massive shockwave in front of him.
He looks around and finds the only other living thing beside himself on the 100th floor.
And there, in the corner of his eyes, he spots a figure sitting down in front of him on the grass, looking lonely, facing away, and looking at the clouds. Long white hair, a small feminine back.
It's not a monster… but an NPC?
Kairo is puzzled. After a while of staring and debating whether he should attack it, he puts his blade away and walks towards the figure.
Kairo is still ready for combat despite putting his sword away. As he slowly approaches her, he reaches out a hand and slowly taps her on the shoulder while saying,
"Uh, hello?"
The girl is startled, looking over her shoulder, finally revealing her face. Only catching a glimpse of Kairo's frame, she is immediately intimidated.
She turns around and quickly gets up. As she finally looks at Kairo's face…?
Kairo also looks at her and feels confused. She looks very familiar.
It's like they have a deep connection. They continue to stare into each other's eyes. They feel a deep connection with each other.
"Uh… do I know you? Why do your eyes look so… familiar?"
After saying that, Kairo quickly dismisses the thought of knowing her since she is an NPC. After calming himself down, he checks her NPC status window (Status window) he mutters in a silent voice, and a small window pops up.

As Kairo normally checks her status window, he comes across the Synchronisation stat.
As he tries to figure out what it is, the text starts glitching. Suddenly, a very loud shriek comes from the system, and Kairo starts screaming in agony. His eyes feel like they are on fire while simultaneously being crushed and squeezed.
Yuki suddenly hears Kairo scream in pain and gets worried and uneasy.
"WHAT'S WRONG? ARE YOU OKAY?" she says while kneeling beside him, comforting Kairo by hugging him while crying. She doesn't know why she's worried about the well being of this random guy she just met . She also doesn't care. All that matters for now is that he gets better.
The pain is real. Not just the virtual reality. Kairo's insides feel like they are getting crushed and burned.
While Kairo screams on the ground in pain.
Ughhh! AAHHH!
