"Yes, Chief."
But Santiago was not finished.
"One more thing," he said.
Nicolas waited.
"The family reserves," Santiago continued slowly. "Check them."
That was serious. Nicolas's eyes narrowed slightly. "You think there's been a breach?"
"I don't think," Santiago replied coldly. "I verify."
A pause.
"If anyone accessed it," he added, his voice dropping to something far more dangerous, "I want to know who, how, and when."
No one touched that facility without consequences.
Nicolas nodded once more, slower this time. "I'll start immediately."
Santiago gave no further response. He simply turned back toward the window, his silhouette framed against the growing darkness outside. Controlled. Still. But no longer at ease.
Behind him, Nicolas exited the room quietly. He was already pulling out his phone, already activating systems, already setting the investigation in motion.
Because this was not just an investigation.
It was a hunt.
