Chapter 25 - Understood in One Listening

Kakashi patted Yoru lightly on the shoulder before walking toward the edge of the lake.

"Do you think I earned my reputation in the shinobi world with just the Sharingan?"

Yoru stepped beside him, gazing at the rippling water reflecting the moonlight.

"Besides the Sharingan… you must have a highly lethal technique to complement it."

"You're a jōnin. There's no way you don't have a trump card."

Kakashi smiled faintly.

"Correct. I once developed a technique. Without the Sharingan, it was extremely dangerous to use."

"With the Sharingan… it became a weapon of terrifying lethality."

He let out a quiet breath.

"When I first created Chidori, before I had this eye, it was almost suicidal. One miscalculation, and I would've been counter-killed."

"If an old friend hadn't given me this Sharingan… I wouldn't be standing where I am today."

The eye consumed enormous amounts of his chakra.

But it also elevated his ceiling.

With careful chakra management and combat instincts, the Sharingan became an amplifier rather than a burden.

Yoru watched him silently.

Kakashi misread his gaze.

"Curious who gave it to me?"

For others, he would never speak so casually.

But Yoru was different.

In some ways, Kakashi already valued him even more than Naruto or Sasuke.

Yoru paused for half a second. He had merely been distracted in thought, but since Kakashi assumed otherwise, he nodded.

"I am a little curious."

Kakashi sat down by the lake and gestured for Yoru to join him.

"When I graduated from the Academy, I was too young. I couldn't get along with my teammates."

"I only formed a proper squad after the rest of my cohort graduated."

"In a sense… I didn't truly graduate early."

He chuckled lightly.

"And this eye belonged to my friend—Obito Uchiha."

He told Yoru about Obito and Rin. About the mission. About the sacrifice.

Yoru already knew the broad strokes, but hearing the details from Kakashi himself was different.

"This eye is Obito's legacy," Kakashi said quietly. "It has helped me more than anyone knows."

Yoru's expression remained calm, though inwardly he thought:

If you knew what Obito is doing now…

Kakashi looked at him seriously.

"I hope you protect the friends you cherish."

"Losing them… is painful."

Yoru simply nodded.

Kakashi stood.

"Enough of that."

"Do you know why I'm willing to teach you Chidori?"

"You don't have the Sharingan. This technique is dangerous."

He studied Yoru carefully.

Yoru considered briefly.

"You think my dynamic vision is strong enough."

"Strong enough to rival the Sharingan."

Kakashi's visible eye curved in approval.

"Exactly. When I tested you last night, I noticed your motion tracking ability."

"It's sharper than most ordinary Sharingan users."

"Chidori requires high-speed movement and extraordinary visual perception."

"You qualify."

Yoru nodded.

"But I assume it's extremely difficult to master."

"It is."

"Kakashi said seriously, "Chidori is an A-rank technique. Without sufficient dynamic vision, its practical difficulty approaches S-rank."

"Before learning it, most shinobi must train their movement speed extensively."

"And it consumes a large amount of chakra."

He paused.

"But that's not a problem for you."

"Your chakra reserves are already at jōnin level. You could use Chidori about ten times a day."

"I can use it around twenty. Your reserves are already half of mine."

He had no idea Yoru's chakra had doubled again the previous night.

Yoru listened intently without interrupting.

Kakashi nodded, satisfied with his focus.

"You already meet every prerequisite—vision, body control, chakra."

"You don't need preparatory training."

"I'll teach you Chidori directly."

"And once you master it, I'll teach you its advanced form—Raikiri."

Kakashi had high expectations.

He genuinely did not believe Chidori would take Yoru long.

So he began explaining the internal structure.

Chakra compression.

Lightning nature transformation layering.

Focused directional output.

High-velocity thrust mechanics.

Compared to standard ninjutsu, Chidori was far more intricate.

It truly reflected Kakashi's genius.

Ordinary shinobi wouldn't even understand the explanation—let alone learn it.

After more than ten minutes of detailed breakdown, Kakashi looked up.

"If you didn't understand, I can explain it again."

"It's complicated. Not grasping it the first time is normal."

Yoru nodded calmly.

"I understand."

To ensure Kakashi didn't doubt him, he proceeded to dissect the technique back to him—

The chakra density thresholds.

The stabilization nodes.

The angular piercing vector.

Even micro-adjustments required during acceleration.

His explanation was precise.

Structured.

Complete.

If someone overheard, they would think he had practiced the technique for decades.

Kakashi froze.

For several seconds, he simply stared.

"…If I hadn't personally created this technique…"

"I would've thought you'd mastered it for decades."

"You're far too fluent."

There was no exaggeration in his voice.

This wasn't talent anymore.

It was something else.

Something terrifying.
