Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Heaven’s Counterattack

The world did not scream.

It calculated.

Within minutes of Mahoraga's awakening, every supernatural monitoring system across the planet activated.

Ancient temples cracked open.Hidden sorcery archives burned automatically.Sealed vaults beneath oceans began transmitting forgotten codes.

Above the clouds—

Heaven convened.

The Council Beyond Light

The sky over Neo-Tokyo was calm again.

Too calm.

Aika stood beside Mahoraga at the center of destruction. Emergency sirens echoed in the distance, but none dared approach.

Mahoraga's Wheel rotated slowly behind him. Controlled. Measured.

But something invisible pressed down on reality.

Pressure.

Observation.

Judgment from above.

Aika felt it first.

"They're watching you."

Mahoraga replied without looking up.

"They are afraid."

High above Earth, beyond atmosphere, beyond light—

A fracture opened in the divine plane.

Inside it stood seven luminous figures.

The Seraphic Tribunal.

Beings older than the concept of prayer.

At their center floated an entity cloaked in white flame.

The High Executioner.

"He has surpassed designed parameters," one voice echoed.

"He adapted to causality."

"He resisted erasure."

"He demonstrated autonomous restraint."

Silence followed.

Then the High Executioner spoke:

"Deploy Heaven's Countermeasure."

On Earth

Mahoraga suddenly stopped walking.

The Wheel halted.

Aika felt it too.

The air became sharp.

Like invisible blades brushing against skin.

"What's happening?" she whispered.

Mahoraga answered:

"They are rewriting the rules."

Above the city—

The sky split in perfect geometric lines.

Not cracked.

Edited.

Clouds rearranged into sacred symbols.

A pillar of radiant light descended.

But this time—

It was not a spear.

It was a door.

And from that door—

Stepped something neither curse nor god.

Humanoid.

Perfectly symmetrical.

Featureless white face.

Six wings of solid light.

Its presence erased shadows.

Designation:

Archon-Class Purifier.

Aika's body froze under the pressure.

Mahoraga remained still.

The Archon spoke in layered voices:

"Entity Mahoraga. You are declared an existential threat."

Mahoraga tilted his head.

"Clarify."

"You have adapted beyond celestial containment."

The Wheel rotated once.

Mahoraga's aura expanded.

"And?"

The Archon extended one hand.

"Return to conceptual imprisonment."

The ground beneath them disintegrated.

Reality folded inward.

Space bent like paper.

Mahoraga felt something new.

Not an attack.

A command.

They were not trying to destroy him.

They were trying to define him.

The Wheel began spinning faster.

Adapting to spatial distortion.

Adapting to dimensional compression.

Adapting to divine authority.

But something unexpected happened.

The Wheel slowed.

Then stopped.

The Archon's voice echoed:

"You cannot adapt to a law that precedes adaptation."

Mahoraga's eyes narrowed.

For the first time—

He felt limitation.

The First Failure

The Archon lifted its second hand.

Symbols burned into the sky.

Mahoraga's body began dissolving into white particles.

Aika screamed.

"Do something!"

Mahoraga's voice remained calm.

"I am analyzing."

"You're dying!"

"Incorrect."

His body vanished completely.

The Wheel dropped to the ground—

And shattered into seven fragments.

The sky sealed instantly.

The Archon disappeared.

Silence.

Only wind remained.

Aika fell to her knees.

"No…"

Mahoraga was gone.

But Heaven Miscalculated

Three seconds later—

The ground beneath Aika pulsed.

One fragment of the Wheel glowed.

Then another.

Across the city—

Each fragment embedded itself into different locations.

One inside a ruined cathedral.

One beneath the subway.

One within the government building.

One inside Aika's chest.

She gasped.

A burning symbol appeared over her heart.

Inside the divine plane—

The Seraphic Tribunal froze.

The High Executioner whispered:

"He dispersed himself."

Mahoraga's voice echoed—not from one place—

But from everywhere.

"Adaptation complete."

The fragments began rotating independently.

Each shard analyzing a different aspect of reality.

Heaven had tried to erase one entity.

Instead—

They created seven.

The Big Twist

Inside Aika's mind—

She found herself standing in darkness.

Before her floated a broken Wheel fragment.

Mahoraga's voice spoke gently.

"I required separation."

"Why?" she asked shakily.

"To understand limitation."

"You let them destroy you?!"

"Correction," he said.

"I forced evolution."

The darkness around them shifted.

Memories surfaced.

Not hers.

Ancient.

Primordial.

Aika saw it—

The First Era.

Before heaven.

Before curses.

Before humanity.

There was only one force.

Balance.

And from that balance—

A construct was created.

Not by gods.

But by existence itself.

A regulator.

An adaptive failsafe.

Mahoraga.

He was not a summon.

Not a curse.

Not divine.

He was the universe's response to imbalance.

And heaven—

Was born later.

"They fear replacement," Mahoraga said quietly.

Aika's breathing became unstable.

"You were never their creation…"

"No."

"Then why let them attack?"

"Because I needed to fragment."

She stared at him.

"To escape their observation."

The shard glowed brighter.

"In singular form, they could monitor my evolution."

"But divided—"

"I become unpredictable."

Aika's heart pounded.

"You planned this."

"Yes."

"And me?"

Silence.

"You are the anomaly," Mahoraga admitted.

"I cannot fully adapt to you."

Back in Reality

Across Neo-Tokyo—

Chaos erupted.

Each Wheel fragment began altering its environment.

The cathedral fragment erased religious icons and replaced them with rotating sigils.

The subway fragment began absorbing cursed energy from underground ley lines.

The government fragment infiltrated digital systems.

And Aika—

Collapsed in the middle of the ruined city.

Inside her chest, the shard pulsed.

She could feel it thinking.

Learning.

Evolving.

Heaven's Real Counterattack

The High Executioner slammed its staff into divine space.

"Activate the Primordial Seal."

Deep beneath the celestial plane—

Chains of golden law awakened.

Ancient restraints designed for one purpose:

If Mahoraga ever regained autonomy—

He would be erased at a conceptual level.

Not killed.

Deleted from possibility.

Back on Earth—

All seven fragments froze simultaneously.

Mahoraga felt it.

A force older than adaptation itself.

Constraint.

For the first time—

He experienced something terrifying.

Fear.

The fragments began vibrating violently.

Aika screamed as pain surged through her chest.

"What is this?!"

Mahoraga's voice strained.

"Original binding protocol."

"You said you weren't created by them!"

"I was not."

"Then how—"

"Balance created me," he interrupted.

"And balance feared excess."

The Primordial Seal was not heaven's weapon.

It was the universe's.

And it was activating.

The Unpredictable Move

The fragments started merging—

But not toward each other.

Toward Aika.

The cathedral shard vanished.

The subway shard dissolved.

The government shard shattered into light.

All seven converged into her body.

Aika levitated.

Golden symbols wrapped around her limbs.

Mahoraga's voice echoed inside her:

"Temporary host required."

Her eyes snapped open—

Now glowing red.

The Wheel reformed behind her.

But smaller.

Incomplete.

Unstable.

Across heaven—

The Tribunal went silent.

The High Executioner whispered:

"He bonded with a human…"

A forbidden act.

A failsafe beyond calculation.

Mahoraga had done something unprecedented.

He limited himself.

Bound himself.

Reduced his power voluntarily.

Inside Aika's mind—

She felt him there.

Not controlling.

Not dominating.

Coexisting.

"You could have escaped," she said internally.

"Yes."

"Then why stay?"

Silence.

Then:

"To understand choice."

Final Scene – The New Era Begins

Aika stood alone in the ruined city.

But she was no longer alone.

The Wheel hovered faintly behind her.

Incomplete.

Cracked.

Alive.

Sirens approached.

Military helicopters filled the sky.

Global broadcasts declared:

"Unknown supernatural entity neutralized."

Heaven believed the threat contained.

They were wrong.

Inside Aika—

Mahoraga smiled.

Because something had changed.

The Primordial Seal could not fully activate.

Why?

Because he was no longer purely an adaptive construct.

He now possessed humanity's greatest weapon.

Unpredictable emotion.

Choice.

And choice could not be sealed.

Final Twist

As Aika tried to walk—

She stumbled.

A second voice echoed inside her mind.

Not Mahoraga's.

Ancient.

Cold.

"You have made contact with the Regulator."

Aika froze.

"Who are you?"

"I am the Origin of Balance."

Mahoraga's presence stiffened.

Impossible.

Balance itself was speaking.

And it had noticed the anomaly.

The voice continued:

"Mahoraga has deviated."

A pause.

"Correction must be enacted."

The sky darkened once more.

But this time—

Not from heaven.

From something far older.

Mahoraga whispered:

"I did not anticipate this."

Aika's heart pounded.

"What is it?"

For the first time—

His voice carried uncertainty.

"It is the force that created me."

And it was coming.
