Greco finally pulled his gaze from Mara and looked directly at Bruno.
"I see a desperate man's word," Greco said in a low, gravelly rumble. "And I see physical forensics with an authenticated seal. I do not govern my territory on hearsay, Bruno. And I will not allow this Council to do so either."
Bruno's face lost its color. "Don Greco…"
"My vote is for the physical evidence," Greco interrupted, raising his hand. "My vote is for dismissal."
He lowered his hand and looked across the room.
"Dismissed," Don Greco said.
The single word hit the heavy oak table like a gavel.
