After returning from the wet market, Susan Langley had to chant the Heart Clarity Spell for a good while before she could finally accept the reality that she would have to wake up early to cook every day from now on.
She didn't even have a moment to mourn losing her chance to sleep in before Auntie Langley reminded her it was time to make lunch.
This lunch was tangible proof of her apology; she couldn't afford to be careless.
"Langley, seeing how exquisitely you made breakfast, I'm sure lunch and dinner will be no problem for you. I'll be going now. Call me if you need anything."
After saying this, Auntie Langley got up to leave. She was in high spirits, clearly very satisfied with this trip for gossip... I mean... this trip to the wet market.
Susan Langley's chest ached with anger, but since she couldn't lash out, she had no choice but to swallow her bitterness and tears. She picked up the ingredients from the floor and started to get them ready.
