"Shirley, stop crying for a second. What on earth happened?"
Meredith Rowan comforted her patiently.
'She was delighted inside, but since there's no such thing as a free lunch, she needed to do some preliminary investigation.'
Crying, Shirley Thorne recounted Ian Hollis's earlier findings, adding some of her own subjective feelings, like how Ethan Grant was ignoring her, giving her the cold shoulder, and so on.
Meredith Rowan scoffed internally. 'Isn't it normal for Ethan Grant to have a cold expression? You call that the cold shoulder?'
Of course, while that's what she thought, Meredith Rowan couldn't say it out loud.
She feigned nonchalance and said teasingly, "Shirley, I may not be young, but even I've heard that a fight that doesn't end in a breakup is just a way of showing off your love."
"That's not it, Aunt Rowan! How can you not understand me!"
Shirley Thorne's roar nearly burst Meredith Rowan's eardrums.
