Mrs. Logan stared blankly at Chloe Sinclair's back as she walked away, despair flickering in her eyes.
Suddenly, a person came to mind. She quickly stood up, pulled her phone from her pocket, and dialed a number.
The moment the call connected, Mrs. Logan cried out in panic, "Nina, you have to save me."
Nina Sinclair was taken aback by the call, not yet understanding what was happening.
She asked patiently, "What's wrong, Mrs. Logan?"
Mrs. Logan instantly clung to her as if she were a lifeline, wailing, "Mr. Sinclair found out about my visit to you! He's making me pay the money back, but I don't have that much! Can you please lend me some? I'll pay you back in the future?"
On the other end of the line, Nina Sinclair's expression stiffened.
'Where was she supposed to get any money now?'
She had already thrown all her money at paid social media accounts to dig up dirt on Chloe Sinclair, and it had all amounted to nothing.
