CLATTER—
Chloe Sinclair stared blankly, the fork in her hand dropping directly into her bowl of noodle soup.
She blinked rapidly, as if she still couldn't process what had happened, and only then realized she hadn't been hearing things.
Jasper Shaw walked into the kitchen, scanned his surroundings, and asked, "Where's the fridge?"
Chloe, as if waking from a dream, quickly said, "Ou-outside!"
With that, she headed straight for the refrigerator.
Jasper turned and followed.
The apartment's refrigerator was short and small. Given Jasper's height, he had to bend down to look inside.
Chloe watched from the side as Jasper took out a few eggs and some tomatoes from the fridge.
The contents of the refrigerator were sent over daily by people on Gabriel Sinclair's orders.
However, Chloe rarely cooked, so the refrigerator had barely ever been opened.
Jasper rooted around and found a few more things in the fridge, then headed straight for the kitchen.
