After a long while, it suddenly grew much quieter, but he could still hear the voices of children every now and then.
Gabriel had explained, "My agent booked a last-minute variety show for me. I'm out of town right now, and the signal isn't great. Sorry for making you worry."
Chloe, however, was a little surprised.
She had no memory of Gabriel ever joining a variety show at the last minute.
But then she recalled how aloof and uninvolved she had been in her past life. 'It's only natural I wouldn't remember,' she thought.
So, she just reminded him to be safe before hanging up.
On the other end of the line, Gabriel was delighted to hear his little sister spend a full three minutes telling him to be safe, and he hung up the phone with a grin.
The director had been looking for Gabriel for a while. Spotting him grinning like an idiot all by himself, he quickly waved him over.
"What are you smirking about over here?"
