"You're too busy with work and always forget to eat breakfast. I was worried you'd ruin your stomach, so I made breakfast and brought it over myself. You didn't like the things I bought you the other day, but surely something I made with my own hands will meet with your approval, right?"
"..." Felix Preston's face was stony. He didn't answer her.
She held the breakfast container out to Felix Preston, her eyes filled with anticipation as she gazed at him, hoping he would take it immediately or at least show a flicker of pleasant surprise.
But there was none.
Felix Preston simply turned his head, beckoned to Sonia Quincy who was standing nearby, and called out gently, "Sonia, come over here."
Sonia Quincy walked over as requested. Her smiling gaze swept nonchalantly over Renee Sinclair, showing not the slightest surprise at her presence.
