Felix Preston sniffled, finally letting go of Sonia. He turned to look at little Wilder Preston, who was sleeping soundly in the bassinet.
"I wanted to check on him, but you're my priority, so I didn't look at him right away."
Sonia Quincy tilted her head, gazing intently at the little one in the bassinet, a tender look filling her eyes.
"Then go get a good look at him now. He looks just like you."
Felix Preston nodded, visibly a little nervous.
"Okay."
He used the hospital bed to support himself as he stood up, then tiptoed over to the bassinet and carefully sat down in the chair beside it.
The little rascal was sleeping soundly, his tiny eyes gently closed. His mouth twitched now and then as if he were eating something delicious in his dreams.
The corners of Felix Preston's lips curved up. He felt his heart melt at the sight of Wilder Preston's adorable, peaceful appearance.
