Zhu Xiu almost instantly detected the scent of a bloodline that disgusted him to his very core.
He had been helping move stones, but his movements came to a sudden halt. The atmosphere around him instantly dropped to a frightening low. His vertical pupils narrowed into thin slits as he stared coldly at the few Beastmen who had appeared so abruptly.
The elderly Snake Beastman couple saw Zhu Xiu as well. They looked at him as if he were a rock, or perhaps a failed, defective product. There wasn't the slightest hint of emotion from the long-separated family, only blatant indifference and a certain air of entitled demand.
The male Snake Beastman was the first to speak, his voice hoarse and grating, his tone demanding. "It's been so long, you don't recognize us? Get over here."
Zhu Xiu stood his ground, perfectly still. Not even a flicker of emotion crossed his eyes, as if he hadn't heard a thing.
