Gu Ning stared in astonishment at the Beastman before her.
'How does he know I was in Zone 19...'
"I just heard you two talking about Zone 19." The Beastman seemed to read her mind. "I'm sure every Beastman is curious how a female like you ended up in Zone 19, no?"
It was true that every Beastman was curious why a female was in the Lower District, but an indescribable feeling still welled up inside her.
Gu Ning followed his gaze to Lanuo on the floor. 'I shouldn't have told him so much.'
But she hadn't really said anything. It was Lanuo who kept asking questions, and ignoring him wouldn't shut him up.
"What's it to you?" Gu Ning said, noticing the Beastman sizing her up. "You're a... mugger. You sure talk a lot."
Kaper asked, "You've met a lot of muggers?"
'More than I can count.'
Kaper didn't miss the look on her face as she muttered to herself. He chuckled. "There are quite a few muggers in Zone 19, that's true. But none of them are as easy to talk to as I am."
