The consequence of spending one night with Mrs. Donovan was Nina Donovan waking up with a stiff neck.
She could only turn her head to the right; it hurt terribly whenever she tried to turn left.
Worst of all, she hadn't slept well.
Nina Donovan had dark circles under her eyes and a sore neck, but she didn't dare say anything to Mrs. Donovan.
It wasn't until they were in the car that she saw Ian Donovan, sitting primly and reading a book.
She snatched the book from Ian's hands and craned her neck toward him. "Massage this for your big sister. I've got a stiff neck."
Ian's face was stony. "I only have one sister."
Nina grinned. "I don't care how many you think you have. The one on the official family registry is me, so I'm your sister. Now hurry up, kid."
Ian Donovan: "..."
Without Nina's usual torment lately, Ian had been eating and sleeping well. The color had returned to his face, and he looked much more energetic.
"Aren't you afraid I might just strangle you?"
