The driver's tone turned vicious, and his expression grew increasingly crazed.

The driver seemed to read Nina Donovan's mind. Forcing himself to sound rational, he continued, "Don't even think about running. If you so much as move, I'll detonate the explosives on my body. We'll all go to hell together. If you don't want to die, you'll sit quietly in the back."
The driver looked at Leon Grant and ordered, "There's a coil of rope under the seat. Tie this bitch up."
Leon Grant was so furious he swore, "Why the hell should I listen to you?"
The driver began to strike a lighter, moving the flame toward the fuse.
Nina Donovan spoke up. "Just do what he says."
