She tilted her head slightly. "It's so strange. I wonder why the old Nina Donovan ever liked an imbecile like you."
Leon Grant's face paled, and he didn't dare meet Nina Donovan's gaze.
'He didn't actually... like Vivian Sterling.'
'It just seemed like Vivian Sterling was the only option he had left.'
'Because of a single bad decision, he had lost the Nina Donovan who once loved him most.'
'He didn't want to lose the Vivian Sterling he once adored because of another mistake.'
'But that adoration seemed to have soured over time.'
Leon Grant's voice was a bit hoarse. "Nina Donovan, am I really that terrible?"
