"My opinion?" Li Wei suddenly chuckled. "Can I cuss?"
"And if I say no?" John Mara's expression didn't change in the slightest.
"Then I have nothing to say," Li Wei said.
John Mara didn't seem surprised by Li Wei's response. He stood up, walked over to the liquor cabinet, and selected a bottle of high-proof whiskey for himself.
Seeing this, an assistant started to step forward to help John Mara but was curtly dismissed.
"Go get me a whiskey stone," he ordered. "And bring me a glass."
He opened the cabinet door himself, carried the whiskey back, and plopped down across from Li Wei. He stretched out a frail arm and twisted the cap off the bottle.
The assistant returned with the glass and placed it in front of John Mara.
