Roland raised his eyebrows at these words.
Confirming that the leader of the Merchant Guild before him was not joking, he gave a slight bow.
"Thank you, Mr. Derek."
"There's no need for such formalities, Mr. Roland,"
Derek replied.
"I am merely fulfilling the promise Colin made."
Seeing that Roland did not show any signs of ecstasy upon hearing the news, Derek's estimation of him quietly rose a little higher.
"Well then… please continue to enjoy the banquet."
Derek gave a slight nod and turned to leave.
Roland narrowed his eyes as he watched Derek's back disappear into the crowd.
Before they had met, he'd assumed that a man with such power and status in the River Domain would be a stern and ruthless figure. He hadn't expected him to be so approachable.
