The only real threat came from the demons flying overhead. Levi had to divert some of his attention to deal with the pitchforks and long spears raining down from the sky.
"Actually, we just escaped from White Bone Fortress," Fatir said. "There were too many demons. We couldn't hold on any longer, so we had to seek help from the outside."
"Damon has an army of over one hundred thousand men, not to mention all you Casters. To get beaten this badly... there can't be four or five hundred thousand demons, can there?" Levi asked, surprised.
"No!" Fatir denied adamantly.
"That's a relief." Levi sighed. Facing over a hundred thousand enemies already made one feel small and insignificant in a vast, boundless world. If four or five hundred thousand demons were arrayed before them, the forces of High Cliff Castle could chop at them until they all died of exhaustion.
"To be precise, you could even say there are countless demons!" There was a hint of helplessness in Fatir's voice.
