Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: The Approaching Placement Test, Daily Refreshing Magic, and the Discovery of Magic Wheat

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, more than half a month had passed.

"By final decision of the school administration, the first placement exam of the semester will be held on the 30th of this month.

The results of this first placement exam are of the utmost importance. We expect all students to do their best!"

That day, Zhang Yi woke up, washed up, and ate breakfast at home. After he logged into the Divine Realm, he received a message from his head teacher, Guo Aiqing.

'Only two days left until the month-end placement exam!'

'I've already made all the necessary preparations, and the Wood Elf Clan is more or less ready too!'

'It's time to test their current level through actual combat!'

Seeing the exam notice from his head teacher Guo Aiqing, Zhang Yi didn't feel nervous at all. Instead, a confident smile spread across his face.

While more than half a month had passed in the Main World, over 600 days had gone by in the Divine Realm.

Ever since Zhang Yi last sent a batch of Iron Weapons and Magic Equipment down to the Divine Realm,

under the management of Elf Queen An Nobel,

she first had all the weapons collected. Then, she gathered a group of the more intelligent Wood Elves to study and understand each type of weapon.

Only then were the weapons distributed to the Wood Elves and Natural Elves undergoing military training with Feiyana.

Of the 1,000 sets of standard-issue equipment for the Elite Elf Corps, only 200 were ultimately distributed.

Of these, 150 sets were allocated for training, while the other 50 went to the newly expanded guard units and Hunting Squads.

The Elf Queen made no arrangements for the remaining 800 sets of standard-issue equipment for the Elite Elf Corps.

She merely took out some twenty-odd Iron Weapons, re-smelted them using coal discovered in the Divine Realm, and forged them into farming tools for the Wood Elves' daily use.

With the help of iron farming tools, the Wood Elves' work efficiency was more than three times faster than before!

As for the Wood Elves in charge of agriculture,

aside from managing the Baobab Trees, whose cultivation area was growing ever larger,

the remaining Wood Elves all gathered to study a newly discovered species—Magic Wheat!

Compared to the Baobab Trees, which had no Magic Power and whose greatest function was just to fill their stomachs,

the discovery of the new Magic Wheat species was a profound shock to the Wood Elves!

Not only did Magic Wheat grow next to the Magic Crystal Vein,

more importantly, Magic Wheat grew by absorbing Magic Power.

Consuming it in large quantities could actually increase one's own Magic Power!

Even if the amount of Magic Power gained wasn't much,

a plant that could increase Magic Power simply through consumption, without needing any special methods,

immediately drew the full attention of all the Wood Elves!

And besides the advantage of increasing Magic Power, the taste of Magic Wheat was also exceptionally delicious.

Every Wood Elf who tried it praised its flavor!

Because of this, the agriculture department,

in addition to managing the Baobab Trees,

now had another task: to research this new species of Magic Wheat.

They needed to figure out how to artificially cultivate higher-quality seeds in order to expand the planting area,

so that all the Wood Elves and Natural Elves in the Divine Realm could eat Magic Wheat!

The remaining equipment was all placed in the warehouse for storage, personally supervised and managed by Elf Queen An Nobel.

As for the 200 sets of Magic Equipment for Elf Apprentices, after their use had been figured out,

only 50 Natural Elves ended up receiving the corresponding equipment.

Make no mistake, it wasn't that Elf Queen An Nobel didn't want to distribute more,

but that after two rounds of Bloodline Advancement, only 40 Wood Elves had successfully undergone Bloodline Awakening to become Natural Elves!

The other ten were Wood Elves who had awakened their bloodlines on their own after being nourished by the Magic Crystal Vein for a long time.

Wood Elves who hadn't awakened their Magic Power couldn't use this Magic Equipment,

so the remaining 150 sets of Magic Equipment could only be reluctantly put away.

But even so, the Magic Staffs, Magic Potion crafting equipment, Scrolls, and so on that came with the Magic Apprentice equipment...

had thrown open the doors to the Magic World for these Natural Elves!

The Magic used by the Natural Elves before was something they had grasped entirely on their own, stimulated by their Bloodline Awakening.

Even if they wanted to learn, they could only watch the Casting process of other Natural Elves and imitate it,

lacking any systematic understanding, possessing only a superficial grasp.

But this batch of Magic Equipment for Elf Apprentices brought them some systematic knowledge.

Furthermore, in Zhang Yi's Oracles, the design blueprint for a one-time-use Small Magic Library had been mentioned several times.

With both Elf Queen An Nobel and Elf High Priest Shamiel giving it high priority,

they had finally gathered the materials to build this Small Magic Library over the past year!

The construction of this Small Magic Library didn't require many materials.

The main materials were Magic Trees, Magic Crystals, and Magic Ore!

All of these could be found near the Magic Crystal Vein.

So, finding the three types of materials needed to build the Small Magic Library didn't take much time.

The majority of the time was spent on the process of extracting them!

However, when the Small Magic Library was built,

Elf Queen An Nobel and High Priest Shamiel finally understood the painstaking efforts of their great Elf God!

Each day, the Small Magic Library would refresh with three new texts, which recorded methods for using various kinds of Magic from the First Level to the Third Level.

As long as the Wood Elves transcribed the methods for casting this Magic, they could possess the knowledge permanently.

Furthermore, there were also some complimentary books in the library that would not disappear.

Among these complimentary books were instructions on how to create Scrolls for recording and casting Magic!

It was this knowledge that taught the Wood Elves that Magic was actually divided into different types,

mainly Elemental Magic, Summoning Magic, Protection Magic, Undead Magic, Prophetic Magic, and more.

It was also because of these discoveries that the Natural Elves were unwilling to leave the Small Magic Library.

All the Natural Elves voluntarily contributed to this newly established Small Magic Library.

Every day, Natural Elves on a rotating shift would transcribe the new Magic that refreshed daily in the Small Magic Library.

The transcribed Magic would then be placed on the second floor of the library, arranged according to its classification.

The remaining Natural Elves didn't stay idle either.

Under the leadership of Elf High Priest Shamiel,

some Natural Elves practiced their Magic, while others made the paper needed for transcription.

They were all bustling with activity, enjoying themselves immensely.

But the most enviable among them

were still the few Natural Elves whose turn it was to enter the Small Magic Library and do the transcribing.

And the benefits of building the Small Magic Library went far beyond that!

All sorts of knowledge related to Magic greatly promoted the division of labor among the Wood Elves throughout the Divine Realm!

Many new departments were established,

and because of this, another drawback of the Divine Realm was exposed: the number of Wood Elves was too small!

However, Zhang Yi had no way to solve this problem.

After all, the Divine Domain Cards he needed to load in the early stages had long been decided.

Besides loading Divine Domain Cards, his only other option was to try his luck,

and see if he could discover other continents in the Subspace and encounter other Elf Tribes!
