Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Fearsome Ling Fei

Qin Hong and Ling Fei clashed.

Under Qin Hong's aggressive assault, Ling Fei was forced to meet him head-on.

Originally, both Qin Hong's physical power and the sheer volume of his True Qi surpassed Ling Fei's.

Just as Qin Hong believed he could defeat Ling Fei, the Cold Chi True Qi erupted, unleashing a terrifying wave of Cold Qi.

In an instant, the Cold Qi turned Qin Hong into an ice sculpture.

Ice crystals spread from Qin Hong's right arm, and in a flash, they sealed his chest, abdomen, and even his face in ice.

Then, his feet were also completely frozen solid.

Nearby, the four young men from the Qin Clan could only watch, wide-eyed and helpless, as the ice crystals spread and Qin Hong was transformed into a statue of ice.

The sight left the four of them utterly dumbfounded, their hearts pounding in shock.

"This..." Not far away, Huang Xiaoman, who had been rushing over at top speed, came to a sudden halt, her eyes fixed on the scene before her in utter astonishment.

She stared at Qin Hong, who had been turned into an ice sculpture.

'He's been frozen solid?' A full breath later, Huang Xiaoman finally snapped out of her shock.

Then, she turned to Ling Fei, her face a mask of bewilderment.

'Cold Pool Valley... Cold Essence True Qi... Could it be? Is this kid a Cold Essence Spirit Body?' Huang Xiaoman murmured to herself as a look of sudden understanding dawned in her eyes.

Her expression shifted as she looked at Ling Fei, and a hint of delight surfaced in her usually sharp eyes.

'If he really has a Cold Essence Spirit Body, then this young man's future on the path of Martial Arts is practically limitless!'

After all, a Spirit Body was a one-in-ten-thousand existence among Cultivators. Such an individual would be considered a rare genius, even at the Divine Academy!

'Frozen solid?' At this moment, Ling Fei was also startled. The sudden appearance of the ice sculpture before him sent a shock through his very core.

He knew that when they had just fought, he had clearly felt the immense power of the True Qi within Qin Hong's body.

To make a comparison, Qin Hong's True Qi was like a raging flood, incredibly fierce.

His own wisp of Cold Chi True Qi, however, was merely a trickle in comparison.

And yet, the power that erupted from his Cold Chi True Qi was terrifying enough to instantly freeze not only his opponent's True Qi but his entire body.

This level of power was far beyond what Ling Fei had imagined.

'Is this the might of the Cold Chi True Qi?' Ling Fei wondered.

At this moment, he profoundly understood the power of the True Dragon Body Refining Technique.

It was absolutely not something an ordinary Cultivation Technique could compare to.

"Second Young Master!" After a moment of shock, the four youths from the Qin Mansion cried out in panic.

This was the Second Young Master of the Qin Mansion, a disciple of the Direct Lineage!

If he were to perish here, it was not hard to imagine what kind of shockwaves would ripple through Longtan Town.

"Ling Fei, how dare you kill our Second Young Master! Die!" one of the youths roared, his eyes practically splitting with rage as he thrust a palm strike directly at Ling Fei.

The wind from his palm was powerful, the force behind it astonishing.

An ordinary person struck by it would surely be severely injured.

Seeing this, Ling Fei's brow furrowed slightly. He was still in a state of shock over the power of his Cold Chi True Qi.

The incoming palm strike caught him somewhat off guard.

Thus, he could only flip his palm and hastily meet the attack.

BANG!

Their palms slammed into each other.

ROAR!

Then, a roar that sounded like a True Dragon echoed from within Ling Fei's body as the wisp of Cold Chi True Qi, not yet depleted, once again burst forth with astonishing Cold Qi.

'His bones are so hard, and his strength isn't weak either!' After the clash, the heart of the enraged Qin Clan youth trembled.

The impulsive rage in his heart gradually subsided.

But just as he realized the young man before him was not weak, a wave of Extreme Cold Qi burst forth from his opponent's palm.

As this Cold Qi erupted, he felt as if he had been plunged into an icy abyss.

"Cold Qi!" The Qin Clan youth's pupils constricted abruptly.

'Could it be...?' A wave of panic seized him as he understood the reason for Qin Hong's tragic fate. In that instant, pure terror flooded his heart.

But by the time he understood, it was already too late.

Wherever the Cold Qi touched, his True Qi was frozen. On his palm, glittering ice crystals spread at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In just an instant, the frost covered his neck and reached his heart.

A sense of suffocation overwhelmed him.

A moment later, he lost all consciousness.

A human-shaped ice sculpture had formed once again.

'This Cold Chi True Qi is truly domineering,' Ling Fei mused as the ice sculpture took shape, arching an eyebrow.

The power of the Cold Chi True Qi had exceeded his imagination.

'Now, only a third of this wisp of True Qi remains.'

Briefly sensing his reserves, Ling Fei discovered that he had unknowingly consumed two-thirds of his Cold Chi True Qi.

"Brother Xiaowu!" When another ice sculpture formed, the remaining three youths from the Qin Mansion completely panicked.

How long had it been? In just a single exchange, a powerful expert at the Late Stage of Body Tempering Ninth Layer had been turned into an ice sculpture.

Was this still the same person known as Ling the sickly?

"Th-this... Run!" After a moment of shock, one of the Qin Mansion youths turned and fled.

He felt like he had just seen a ghost.

The young man before them was clearly the famous sickly boy of Longtan Town, yet now he possessed such astonishing abilities.

It was a fact that was hard to accept.

"Quick, go tell the Eldest Young Master!" The other two also scrambled to run back.

They even forgot to take Qin Hong's body with them.

Because Ling Fei's display of power had been so overwhelming that no one dared to take even half a step closer to him.

Even the Cold Qi radiating from Qin Hong's body made them shiver uncontrollably, as if their very Blood Qi was about to freeze.

As such, they didn't even dare to touch Qin Hong, so how could they possibly carry him back?

The men from the Qin Mansion fled in disarray.

'It really is Cold Essence True Qi!' Huang Xiaoman thought, finally coming to her senses.

Behind Huang Xiaoman, Huang Liang came running up, panting for breath.

He stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening as he stared ahead. A look of utter disbelief spread across his still-childish face.

"Sis, is... is this really the Ling Fei we know?" Huang Liang looked up at his sister and asked. "What kind of sorcery did he use to freeze Qin Hong like that?"

"It's not sorcery. It should be Cold Essence True Qi," Huang Xiaoman said.

"Cold Essence True Qi?" Huang Liang was taken aback.

"Ling Fei must possess a Cold Essence Spirit Body." A glint flashed in Huang Xiaoman's eyes as she spoke. "I never expected him to have such a talent."

"Cold Essence Spirit Body?" Huang Liang listened, somewhat dazed. However, his brow furrowed as he looked at Ling Fei.

At that moment, he knew in his heart that he would probably never be able to surpass this so-called Ling the sickly.

The thought made him incredibly frustrated.

'Sis should still be able to handle him, right?' Huang Liang wondered inwardly.

However, while Huang Liang was lost in thought, Huang Xiaoman was already striding toward Ling Fei on her long, slender legs.

"Who's this...?" The sudden appearance of the long-legged young woman startled Ling Fei, who had been inwardly assessing the power and effects of his Cold Chi True Qi.

"What, you don't recognize me anymore?" Seeing Ling Fei's dazed expression, Huang Xiaoman raised an eyebrow, tilting her head back like a proud swan.

"Er... Huang Xiaoman! Huang the wild girl!" Seeing her familiar posture, Ling Fei's eyes lit up, and the words tumbled out of his mouth.

"Good thing you still recognize me, kid. Otherwise, I would've had to rough you up a bit," Huang Xiaoman said, raising an eyebrow in her usual manner.

Though Huang Xiaoman's words seemed casual, she couldn't help but size up the young man she hadn't seen in two years from the corner of her eye.
