Because of Doris's unique situation, her Beast Husbands got along with less of the hostility usually seen among the partners of other females.
In addition, Hiro was older, so his attitude toward Lian was usually more temperate.
But that didn't mean he was happy about Lian becoming Doris's Beast Husband.
Lian's face was filled with sorrow. He looked at Hiro with a gloomy gaze and muttered dejectedly, "I regret it..."
He was filled with remorse and vexation. 'I should have been nicer to Doris before. But it's too late to say anything now. The way she treats me... it's what I deserve.'
Lian took a deep breath, forcing himself to rally. His eyes grew incredibly determined.
'But I won't give up so easily,' he thought. 'I'll use my actions to win Doris's heart again. I'll spend the rest of my life by her side to atone for my sins.'
Hiro raised an eyebrow and patted Lian's shoulder. "Well, good luck with that."
