Shen Yuan's improvement had been too rapid; Old Zhou probably wanted to ask about it.
Shen Yuan pushed open the wooden door to the office. The afternoon sun slanted across desks piled high with exam papers.
He glanced at his Eldest Female Cousin's empty seat before heading straight for Old Zhou, who was in the corner.
"Old Zhou."
Shen Yuan casually dragged his Eldest Female Cousin's chair over and plopped down next to Old Zhou.
Old Zhou took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Looking at Shen Yuan beside him, he nodded and got straight to the point. "You've made a lot of progress lately."
He tapped a finger on the monthly exam report card at the corner of his desk, where Shen Yuan's name now sat near the top of the list.
Shen Yuan grinned. "It's all thanks to your great teaching, Old Zhou! Otherwise, my math wouldn't have improved this quickly!"
"Cut the flattery."
Old Zhou cut him off, but the corner of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.
