After the long break between classes ended, Shen Yuan and Li Zhi walked with their class toward the academic building, surrounded by the clamor of footsteps and the chatter of their classmates.
Shen Yuan suddenly turned his head toward Li Zhi, a relaxed smile on his lips, and asked, "Hey, you still haven't told me if you were satisfied with my answer from before."
Li Zhi, of course, knew what Shen Yuan was asking about.
Though that voice had been drowned out by the noise of the morning exercises, it felt as if it still hung in the morning breeze.
Li Zhi didn't respond immediately.
She paused for a moment, her long, jet-black hair cascading down like inky ripples, hiding the tips of her ears which were quietly turning red.
Li Zhi's gaze briefly landed on Shen Yuan's face. Her almond-shaped eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly, wary like a startled bird, but then quickly darted away, looking toward the distant academic building.
