Li Zhi let out a soft "Mm-hmm," waiting for him to continue. Her hand subconsciously squeezed the cat's soft, squishy paw pads.
"But it's just..."
Shen Yuan frowned, looking completely baffled.
"From start to finish, they didn't mention the hotel once! Not a single word! It was like they'd all agreed to avoid it!"
The corner of Li Zhi's mouth twitched slightly, her tone laced with its usual sarcasm.
"What? You want them to talk about the hotel that badly?"
Shen Yuan choked on Li Zhi's blunt words.
"No."
Shen Yuan glanced guiltily at the closed door and lowered his voice. "Didn't you notice? My mom didn't say a single thing about where we were staying. And especially after your dad came in later—the way your mom, my mom, and my dad were looking at each other."
Li Zhi looked at Shen Yuan helplessly, as if she were looking at an idiot.
"I don't need to spell out what they're avoiding by not mentioning the hotel, do I?"
Shen Yuan's face flushed red, and he nodded.
