'Hmph! That idiot Shen Yuan likes black stockings, doesn't he? Fine, I'll be magnanimous and wear them for you just once!'
But the moment she had that thought, Li Zhi wanted to die.
'I'm going to die of embarrassment.'
With a complex mix of self-loathing and a faint thrill, Li Zhi finally opened her sock drawer.
Her gaze fell upon several pairs of black stockings, but it quickly settled on a pair of soft, thick black tights.
'It's the middle of winter. Even with the heat on, I can't really wear those sheer stockings!'
'As long as they show off the shape of my legs, that's good enough!'
In the end, Li Zhi's modesty won out, and she compromised by choosing a slightly darker, thicker pair of black tights.
'Anyway, it's only a short walk from my house to Shen Yuan's. I don't need to dress too warmly; a down jacket will be enough.'
'Okay, since I'm doing this, what should I wear with the tights?'
'A short skirt?'
'Aaaah!!'
'Li Zhi, you're really insane.'
