Evan Sterling looked down at the feedback on his tablet and sighed. "The designer of this necklace isn't one of our contracted designers. He was chosen through a design submission."
"And what of it?" Hazel Sterling asked.
"The contract the company signed with this designer has a clause that allows him to buy back the work at three times the production cost."
"Why would our contracts have a clause like that?"
"The designer requested it; otherwise, he would've refused to work with us. Our own designers had their eyes on his subsequent design drafts. He created a whole star-and-moon-themed collection. Aunt, take a look—" As Evan spoke, he showed the next few design drafts to Hazel Sterling.
Even Hazel Sterling, who was accustomed to seeing the world's top jewelry, was filled with amazement when she saw the design drafts.
"Who is this designer?!" Hazel Sterling asked.
Evan Sterling flipped to the signature at the end of the contract. "A Chinese designer named Joyce."
