Ivy Holden felt her eyes begin to sting. She looked down to hide it, taking a sip of her juice to push down the emotions welling up inside her. Only then did she manage a smile. "Oh, him? He's just stubborn. It's an annoying trait all intellectuals seem to have. It's best not to take him too seriously."
"The way you said that... you sound just like your mother," Zachary Thorne said with a faint, wry smile.
This was not a conversation Ivy Holden wanted to have with anyone, especially not about her mother's past. She lowered her head and took another sip of juice. "Uncle Thorne, I have some documents to finish. Why don't you get some rest?"
"Alright, you get to it. I have some work to do as well." In fact, Zachary Thorne had even more to handle than Ivy Holden did.
And so, the comfortable seats of the private jet became office chairs for the three CEOs.
