When Mute woke up, the room was filled with a thick, lingering aroma of roasted meat. Even though she couldn't taste food from the mortal world, the smell made Mute's throat bob, and icy saliva nearly dripped from her mouth. She was hungry. She wanted to eat.
Mute tried to sit up, only to realize her soul body was incredibly weak. She was enveloped by a pale Qing Barrier. The Barrier used the four corners of the large bed as pillars, creating a shape similar to a camping tent. Lying inside the Barrier, Mute felt cramped, unable to even stretch her limbs. Uncertain if this Barrier was harmful, Mute didn't dare make a reckless move.
