She sat in a corner, hugging her knees to her chest as only a faint sliver of light filtered in.
Skylar Morrison squeezed in after her, the twilight glow from outside casting a soft light on her face.
He sat down beside her.
"Back then…" Rosalind Lowell paused. "Whenever I was really upset, I'd hide in here. No one would come looking for me. I'd only come out after I'd sorted things out."

"It's a little small now. I've grown up, so it's gotten smaller. But I haven't been here in a long time, not since I grew up."
In the faint light, Skylar Morrison gently stroked her head. "So, are you feeling any better now?"
Rosalind Lowell shook her head. "I don't think I can get over this. If it's because of me…"
"I don't know how to atone. Even if I bear his child, he's not coming back…"
