"My brother killed a sheep today to thank you, and he wants to invite you, Davenport, to a whole roasted lamb feast."
Shannon Hale looked at him expectantly. "You have to come tonight, okay? If you don't, my brother and I will both be mad."
Alaric Davenport then looked at her. "Are you going?"
Rosalind Lowell's breath hitched. 'That young girl had been staring at her like a rival in love, and now he wanted her to come along? This is just asking for trouble.'
'But the girl seemed quite naive, not a bad person at heart.'
"Davenport, I only invited you!"
Shannon Hale pouted, her hands on her hips, looking thoroughly peeved.
"If she doesn't go, I'm not going."
"Alright, then."
After Shannon Hale left, Rosalind Lowell said, half-joking, "My, Mr. CEO, your charm is just too powerful."
"And what about you?"
