The faint scent of roses filled the room.
It was no less impressive than their bridal suite had been.
Rosalind smoothed her hair, looking at Alaric a bit sheepishly. "You only decorated this room?"
"Don't you like it?"
Rosalind blinked. "It's not that... It's just... so romantic."
Alaric closed the door. He took her by the wrist, led her to the edge of the bed, and gestured for her to sit.

A sudden ringtone shattered the mood. Alaric frowned, glanced at the caller ID, and after a second's hesitation, answered the call.
"Okay, I got it. I'll head back immediately. Meet me at the helipad."
Rosalind had been waiting eagerly for his next words, but from his phone conversation, she gathered the gist of it: he had to leave.
