The car came to a stop, and Alaric Davenport carefully helped Rosalind Lowell out. She laughed. "I'm just pregnant, not made of glass."
Alaric Davenport wasn't convinced. It was his first time as a father-to-be—he had no experience and was on edge.
As she got out of the car and glanced up, she saw another vehicle pull to a stop.
It was Jessica Sutton.
The excitement she'd felt a moment ago instantly cooled. She had been so overjoyed that she'd forgotten: wherever Don Lowell was, Jessica Sutton was sure to follow.
She sighed to herself. They had just had a huge fight, and Jessica Sutton had completely dropped all pretenses with her.
'This is going to be so awkward.'
Jessica Sutton saw them too. Dressed in a typically sexy dress, she waved at Alaric Davenport and walked over with a smile. "Alaric. Miss Lowell."
Rosalind Lowell was surprised Jessica would even greet her. 'But of course she would, just because Alaric is here,' she thought.
