He was already freezing all alone, and at first, he thought he was hallucinating. But the sounds only grew clearer the more he listened. He had been on the verge of passing out, but their noise made it impossible for him to sleep.
He cursed internally, 'Damn it, why hasn't anyone come to rescue us yet? They're so slow! That damn Don Lowell… I'm never coming back to this deathtrap of a manor again. I've nearly died here.'
