Alaric Davenport took a deep breath. He looked at the cards in his hand, then at Ethan Lockwood. "If something happens to me, you watch over her for me."
"This isn't some business function. Why are you going all out?" Ethan Lockwood said, glancing at him.
"I'm happy to drink for my wife."
Rosalind Lowell didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She was happy, but she really didn't want him to get drunk.
Alaric was kind of cute like this.
He still looked composed, showing no sign of being drunk.
"Looks like Alaric wants another drink?" As she spoke, she refilled Alaric's glass and secretly dropped a little something inside.
A new round began. Don Lowell and Jessica Sutton were chosen, and Don won.
