Yasmine Kimball, in contrast, walked over in high spirits. "The children are back?"
Rosalind Lowell gave a polite nod, then went to Dexter Davenport's side. "Father, are you feeling any better?"
Dexter Davenport nodded, managing a kind smile. The familiar warmth instantly returned. "Good. Just looking at you makes me feel like I could stand up right away. I don't even need to take my medicine."
Rosalind Lowell leaned in and whispered in Dexter Davenport's ear that she was pregnant.
"Really?"
Dexter Davenport's eyes brightened considerably, and he sat up a little straighter. He grasped her hand. "Good girl. You must eat well today."
Rosalind Lowell nodded.
