Rosalind froze. 'The money? Didn't I get it from him?'
"Alaric?"
Alaric glanced at her before continuing his discussion with the others.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?"
Her voice was drowned out by the sound of their conversation.
"Alaric!" she yelled. Only then did the group stop and turn to her.
"I think I've caused some trouble. Can I please talk to you for a moment?"
Alaric arched an eyebrow, his expression cold and distant. "Barging into the conference room is one thing, but now you're interrupting our meeting. If you have something to say, say it here."
"I'm the one who gave him the money," Rosalind said, biting her lip. "Did it cause a huge problem for you?"
Alaric's eye twitched. "If there's nothing else, go home."
Rosalind's eyes widened. She couldn't believe it. She hadn't seen Alaric for just one night, and he was like a completely different person.
'Why is he like this? Or... does he already know it was me? Is that why he's so angry?'
