Aria Sterling studied the report over and over before asking Jackson Ross, puzzled, "Mr. Ross, are you sure this is from the vial that was lost all those years ago?"
"Based on the current blood results, there's an eighty percent chance. We'll need to conduct more detailed research to be certain." Mr. Ross's face was beaming. "Aria, my girl, you never disappoint. I only asked you to keep an eye out on a whim, but I never thought you'd find a lead so quickly."
"It was just a coincidence," Aria Sterling said, not taking the credit.
Mr. Ross had previously told her that a research team had lost a research sample from an ancient man-eating flower and asked her to keep an eye out for it. She hadn't even started investigating the matter. To her surprise, when she asked Mr. Ross to analyze Landon Hawthorne's blood, she learned the mutation in it might be linked to that very sample.
Talk about a stroke of luck.
