Dan stood steadily within the cold, dark emptiness of outer space, his body facing the enormous golden sun shining brilliantly before him. Recently, after years of intense research and countless experiments, he had finally begun testing a new technique which, if successful, would allow him to absorb solar energy directly and convert it with high efficiency into pure natural energy, creating an almost endless source of power.
Normally, an ordinary human could never survive with their physical body exposed to outer space. They would simply die within minutes.
Without atmospheric pressure, every liquid inside the human body would immediately begin to boil and rapidly turn into gas. At the same time, the person would suffocate from the complete lack of oxygen, and if they were in the shadow far away from sunlight, their body could freeze almost instantly under the terrifying cold of space, which could reach nearly minus 270 degrees Celsius.
But all of those deadly limitations only applied to ordinary humans.
Dan had already reached a transcendent state that completely surpassed those human restrictions due to his overwhelming strength, which had been carefully built upon many different foundations such as the Five Vitality Seals and his intense training with the Depth Seal.
That training had transformed his body into something absurdly powerful. His current level inside the Depth Seal had reached pressure equivalent to being nearly 17,000 meters beneath the ocean, pushing his physical body far beyond imagination itself.
At his current level, with nothing more than a pure physical punch, he could easily destroy a massive celestial body the size of the moon, or effortlessly flood entire continents and trigger a catastrophic extinction event capable of wiping out life across the entire planet.
Yet despite all of that terrifying power, he still was not satisfied. Not even close.
He was greedy for more and more strength, more evolution, more perfection.
Because Dan understood very clearly that this world was unbelievably dangerous. Everything he currently knew about it might not even amount to the tip of a tiny mountain inside an endless ocean.
If a legendary existence like Shibai Ōtsutsuki truly existed with the terrifying traits described in the original story, then what was stopping other beings equal to him or perhaps vastly stronger from existing somewhere within this massive universe . Nothing.
There was absolutely nothing preventing that possibility. Maybe there were dozens of them . hundreds or thousands of other Ōtsutsuki or maybe entirely different beings.
Perhaps there were even creatures that surpassed the very concept of the universe itself.
That was why Dan still could not feel satisfied with his current strength. Even now, despite how monstrously powerful he had become, he still felt weak.
If he honestly measured his current level, then yes, he could already destroy small and medium-sized planets.
But in his own eyes he was still only standing at the beginning of the long road ahead.
He wanted power capable of shattering stars and destroying entire galaxies. Alongside that, he desired absolute longevity. He wanted to stand at the very top, fearing no one, threatened by no existence whatsoever.
That was his final goal and the reason behind his endless dissatisfaction.
Then Dan slowly regained his full focus and looked once more toward the gigantic golden star burning before him . the great sun itself.
A powerful blue glowing field spread around his body as he slowly closed his eyes and sat cross legged within the emptiness of space, fully concentrating as he began activating his new technique.
