Chapter 204 - Chapter 204: The Demon of the Pure Land

This planet contains a unique, separate dimension. It could be called the afterlife, or the Pure Land, as most people know it. However, Dan naturally knew that this name, along with the common beliefs attached to it, was fundamentally inaccurate and did not truly reflect the nature of this place.

The truth he had uncovered was that this special realm was not a spiritual world in the philosophical or religious sense imagined by most people. Rather, it was a unique dimension connected exclusively to this planet and to no other world in the universe. It had no equivalent anywhere else. It was the place where the will of the soul traveled after death not the soul itself.

According to Dan's understanding, built upon years of research, the soul itself vanished completely after death, passing into another level of existence that no one could reach or trace with any tool or technique, regardless of its power. What remained within this special realm was the soul's will and accumulated consciousness, imprinted upon this world as organized spiritual energy that preserved everything that had defined a person during life . their memories, personality, way of thinking, and determination.

This was precisely what would one day make techniques such as the Impure World Reincarnation, created by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, or the resurrection abilities of the legendary Rinnegan possible. These techniques did not summon the true soul nor genuinely restore the dead in the deepest sense. Instead, they retrieved this spiritual imprint preserved within this realm and reconstructed it inside a physical body.

It was not the soul itself. The soul disappeared completely and irreversibly after death, and Dan was almost certain that communicating with it was absolutely impossible by any means or technique. It existed beyond the material and energetic dimensions that any living being, regardless of power or advancement, could ever reach.

As for who had originally created or constructed this realm known as the Pure Land, even after all his extensive research, Dan still had no definitive answer. He suspected it might have been someone deeply connected to this planet in an unimaginably ancient age, or perhaps an ancient civilization that had long vanished into the depths of history, leaving behind this mysterious legacy. In the end, who truly created this place, and for what purpose, remained unknown.

For now, what mattered to him was studying this realm, understanding its true nature, its unique laws, and its potential. That was exactly what he had been doing through a systematic and cumulative approach for quite some time, and his research had already uncovered many fascinating discoveries.

He even intended to incorporate this realm into the greater plans he would eventually carry out on this planet to drive humanity toward continuous evolution, growth, and greater unity in preparation for the coming extraterrestrial invasion of the Otsutsuki.

What inspired him to make use of this realm was the discovery of a creature that had come into existence naturally within it, without any outside intervention. This entity could be described as an enormous concentration of spiritual energy combined with the countless negative emotions that had accumulated within the Pure Land through the spiritual wills that had entered it over thousands of years.

An immense accumulation of anger, fear, sorrow, hatred, violence, pain, and injustice. At some point over the course of history, this overwhelming mass of negative energy had given birth to this being.

The entity could most simply be described as a demon, a name that suited its malevolent nature better than any other. By now, it had grown powerful enough to begin influencing the physical world.

It was this very being that served as the true source and hidden master behind the Puppet Army that had begun wiping out numerous small nations and armies across a vast region of the continent.

Naturally, Dan was fully aware of these events. This was the very same monster mentioned in the first movie of the original story . the creature said to possess enough power to destroy the entire world if ever released without restraint.

For that reason, Dan had ordered his family not to interfere with the matter in any way, allowing events to unfold naturally. He believed that intervention would rob the world of an opportunity to mature and grow by confronting a genuine threat. Events had their own logic, and they should be allowed to follow their natural course.

The only exception Dan made was Thorne, the son who had entered the ruined village and stood before the charred body of the little girl with tears filling his eyes. Thorne possessed a somewhat unique personality.

Dan also believed that this particular incident, along with everything that would follow from it, could help Thorne achieve a kind of maturity that could never be gained through training within the family's headquarters alone. It required facing the world itself . with all its cruelty, injustice, and beauty at the same time.

To Dan, Thorne's tears for the burned little girl in the ruined village were not a sign of weakness. They were the beginning of a foundation that simply needed time to take shape . the beginning of a man searching for the meaning behind his actions and the reason he carried the power inherited through his bloodline. That was a question Thorne would have to answer for himself along the path he had chosen to walk.
