"How many documents do I need to go through today, Amira?" I asked my real secretary, who had been accompanying me through the night as I had to handle many things, so I could make sure that I wouldn't be interrupted by tomorrow morning.
"About twenty more, Sir. This will finish your quota for two days," Amira replied. "May I know why you want to finish up everything ahead of your schedule? Is there any special occasion?"
"Yeah, it's my wife. We're waiting for our daughter to be discharged from the hospital," I claimed without hesitation, and I could hear Amira's audible gasp. I raised my head a little to stare at her, and chuckled. "What's with your expression? You look like someone who just saw a ghost."
"I-I didn't know that you're already married with a child, Sir. W-we all thought that you are not close with anyone… well, except Jane," Amira admitted. "Most employees thought that you will eventually marry Jane Jiang, since you two are inseparable at work."
