And just as I expected, Lara would eventually drop the bomb. The little girl had been pressured, intimidated, and threatened by her mother, so she became a ticking time bomb that finally exploded at the crucial time.
Lara's presence was an anomaly that I was worried about. If she actually defended her mother, then the biased Detective Penn would've tried to find evidence that Aurora was lying.
I still hadn't found a reason why Detective Penn was trying his best to protect Clarissa. Fortunately, Lara actually made the right choice by testifying against her own mother, because now everything returned to the original path that I had predicted.
Now, my unshakeable victory… was within sight.
"LARA!"
Clarissa snapped, and I finally let her go so she could follow the script that I had predicted.
