Ray POV
I forgot how long it had been since I fell on my knees and cried my heart out while listening to all the recordings of my past sins.
My cries echoed inside the penthouse that was now empty. Ironically, I bought this penthouse to fill the emptiness in my heart back then, and also because I knew that Claudia liked this type of penthouse.
I made sure that everything was in line with her aesthetic, so she wouldn't think about running away once I could keep her locked up here.
I thought… as long as Claudia was in this place, then I wouldn't feel lonely anymore. Even if she'd hate me for the rest of my life, that didn't really matter.
Because all I wanted was to see her every chance I could. To hear her voice even if it spouted one venomous word after another, and to touch and feel that she was real, not just a fragment of my imagination.
Even if she would hit me because of her disgust.
