Ben's eyes darted around the blood-soaked ground where lots of bodies lay. He was confused as to what to do. The last message he got was that he would figure things out. "Like what the hell does that even mean?!" he yelled out to no one in particular, but himself.
This.... whatever it was, a 'system' maybe didn't even introduce itself to him or why or what he was exactly meant to do. It just threw Ben into this strange place and him to make sense of it all like things were ever that simple. 'Ever!' He sighed, deeply.
Summoning courage now, he muttered to himself. "Okay, think Ben. Pull yourself together and think."
He had to find something out soon or at least figure out a way to protect himself first before anything else because from the look of this; his 'system' said he was in a 'Blood Reaping Contest.' Blood..yes. And then all around were he stood were splashes of blood and dead bodies. And his system also added that if he died here, he'd be gone in the real world. So he better find a way not to die. At least, before really understanding what was really going on.
As he moved, two creatures ran past him, locked in combat. Their weapons clashed so close to his face. He flinched and stumbled back, falling on his bum.
"phew! That was close." He scanned around where he sat for something. Anything at all, that he could use as a weapon to fight if/when he needed to.
Lucky for him, there was a Club with blood stains all around it close to where he was. He immediately reached out and grabbed it.
The Club felt heavier than it should. Or maybe his arms were just weak because of the situation he was in. It was probably both.
Ben barely had any time to grip it tightly before something growled very close to him. The sound was so deep and chilling, that every hair on his body stood up the moment he heard it. Slowly, he turned around to see where the sound came from. "Shit!"
Standing behind him was a six-foot Werewolf. Its black fur was matted with blood and it had bright glowing yellow eyes. Its mouth was wide open and dripping with saliva. And worse. It was looking directly at Ben.
'Oh shit!' Ben thought to himself as he adjusted and looked away. But before he even could move or run, the werewolf ran towards him. Ben swung the club as hard as he could. He put every energy he could muster into it, all his might, fear, panic and desperation.
But....he missed.
"Fuck."
The werewolf was incredibly fast. Within seconds, It knocked the weapon out of Ben's hands easily and slammed into him, claws digging slowly into his shoulders, tearing through his skin and muscled as he lifted him up.
"Ahhh!" Ben screamed as pain tore through him. The Werewolf's jaws snapped inches from his face. It was going for his gut.
Ben kicked as hard as and swung his legs many times but it was all hopeless. The claws of the werewolf dug deeper into his flesh. He could see his own blood gushing out.
"Please don't kill me." He begged when the pain increased. But it was as if his plea only made the Werewolf want to kill him even more. It slammed its second hands into Ben's other shoulder causing him even greater pain as It pierced it's claws deeper. Ben screamed and begged dearly for his life to be spared but the werewolf was just having fun toying with him.
He had just got here minutes ago and he was already on the verge of dieing. It was like he jumped from a frying pan into fire.
The werewolf snarled and pulled back its arm, ready to rip him open. But suddenly, Ben heard a loud sound like that of thunder.
Boom!
A burst of light exploded between them, shooting the werewolf a few meters away just before its ordeal to rip Ben apart. The werewolf yelped and stumbled back, smoking, while he landed on the ground. He clutched his wounded shoulders, blood leaked between his fingers as he turned to the direction where the sound came from. The wound right now were least of his worries. "That burst of light, what...what was that?" he watched closely as a confident looking figure stepped forward. It had feminine features. Tall, lanky and it had pointed ears and blue eyes. The figure was smiling warmly.
"She an E-elf?" Ben was suprised. He feared she would be a greater threat since the burst of light shot from here could take out a werewolf, but something about her smile proved otherwise. She turned to face and gently bowed in greetings. A warm smile spread across her face.
'She's greeting me?' he thought as he watched her every move, still in doubt. Thankfully, the Elf didn't seem as threatening or ferocious as he thought.
The moment she turned back to the werewolf, every trace of warmth disappeared. She raised her hands and pointed to it. Another massive bolt of energy and energy shot out, slamming into the werewolf's chest.
It howled and collapsed onto its side, twitching and smoking even more. Then the Elf turned to Ben and extended a hand to help him up, smiling warmly again.
"I'm Diana," she said calmly. "Are you alright?"
Ben stared at the hand. Then at the Elf. Then at the werewolf still twitching on the ground.
"I...I uh," he gasped before he could finish his sentence. His eyes widened. "Watch out!"
The werewolf had healed almost immediately and moved faster than it did before. It grinned and charged towards where they were. Particularly aiming at Diana. Before she could move her head to face the direction of the werewolf where Ben was pointing with a horrific glint is his eyes, a clawed hand dove right into her back.
Tears gathered in Ben's eyes. "No!"
